I’m often asked, “How do you come up with such magnificent cake designs?” Truthfully, my clients are my biggest
inspiration. Nothing gives me more joy than bringing a smile to someone’s face. Every special occasion or celebration
deserves an extra special cake. If you can dream it, we can make it!
Some of my fondest childhood memories are centered around cakes and pastries. My Dad, an amateur pastry chef and
baker extraordinaire, was always experimenting with fabulous fillings and “top-secret” recipes. He’d often let me lick
the spoon or help him sculpt a decorative topper for a holiday cake.
As a kid, I knew more about sugar flowers, fondant,
marzipan, chocolates and cake batter than most bakery owners. Looking back now, I realize how precious those times were.
Making those one-of-a-kind cakes with my dad taught me so much and helped shape me to the person I am today.
I never thought I would be a baker. |

When I moved to the states, I continued my studies at the Fashion I
nstitute of Technology in Manhattan, NY. For several years, I worked as an accessory designer for
numerous design studios in New York.
Yet, as the years passed, something seemed to be missing.
In early 2001, I made a phone call to my Dad to discuss my frustration. He said, “Bake a cake Alla.
You will feel better". |
Put all of your heart into it. Then sit back and relax. Taste what you have created.” As crazy as it
sounds, that’s just what I did. I baked a cake, decorated it and admired it. That day will go down
in history as the day The Cake Zone was born.
For those of you craving cake and event credentials, I have a few of those too: I am a member of
ICES, the International Cake Exploration Society and have been trained by top cake artists Norm
Davis Nicholas Lodge, Collette Peters.

My cake designs were recently featured in the August 2010
International “Cake Central “Magazine. I am a Certified Food Safety Manager.
The Cake Zone design studio and bakery is located on private property and visited by appointment
only. Our studio houses a commercial kitchen; it is a Florida State Licensed facility and is inspected
by the Department of Agriculture.
The Cake Zone is a member of

- Weddings of Sarasota
The Cake Zone won The Wedding Wire Bride’s Choice Award in 2010 and 2011.
